Varagarv (바라가브, Bahrahgahbeu) is one of the Three Mad Dogs of Baylord Yama, a Slayer from FUG. He used to be the strongest E-rank Regular for a long time until the event of 30F Workshop Battle on the 30th Floor.
Appearance and Personality[]
Varagarv is a tall, muscular man with long black hair, wearing a white hood with two protruding horns. He has red eyes and possesses tattooed chains that start on his neck and end at his wrists. He also has few tattoos on his face. He always wear a long red pants, shirtless and he didn't wear shoes.
Varagarv is an intimidating man who causes fear on ordinary E-rank Regulars because of his strength. Despite his intimidating and scary appearance, he is willing to show some mercy to people who are weaker than him, like Amaguta and said that he should cherish his life. But that simply because Varagarv wasn't interested with weak opponent. Varagarv is still a cold blooded murder, a ruthless fighter who will never hesitate to kill his enemies because he was born as a fighting dogs. Varagarv envied and despised Jyu Viole Grace because a new regular like Viole was selected to become a "Slayer Candidate" and instead of himself. He was delusional about himself being the strongest Regulars in the Tower, but this not true because Viole had encountered many Regulars who are much stronger than him.[3]
History[]
Baylord Yama sent his Three Mad Dogs to climb the Tower as a show of force for his next generation Canines race fighters. Varagarv grew up inside the harsh environment of dogs fighting ring, where power and strength become everything. Varagarv is a "perfect warrior" and strong Regulars, so when he climbed the Tower, he can quickly gain reputation and fame as the strongest E-rank Regular.
However, one day Varagarv stopped climbing for unknown reasons and disappear without trace, breaking all his ties with FUG. He is said to detest FUG and everything related to them. The reason why Varagarv decided to show up again to participate in the 30F Workshop Battle was because he want to fight against Jyu Viole Grace and test his strength.
Tower of God: Part 2 - The Workshop Battle
The Workshop Battle: Battle x Gamble
Varagarv was chosen for the 6th round of the Plug Battle event and won the round with ease. He killed regular named Amaguta that challenged him without the apparent use of a Baang or physically moving. According to Reflejo, he aimed to stop Jyu Viole Grace and all Regulars that were collaborating with FUG from advancing.
The Workshop Battle: Tournament
After the ending of the Battle x Gamble round and the creation of the Development Tournament, Team Mad Dog were matched up against Team FUG. Ron Mei tricked Viole into thinking that Varagarv would ally with him against Reflejo, but it was then revealed that Varagarv had been working for FUG all along.
The Workshop Battle: The Summoning
Varagarv fought Kang Horyang and Novick while they helped Viole escape and, while he easily overpowered the two of them, he was not able to prevent their escape.
The Workshop Battle: Closure
Varagarv and Ron Mei waited outside the caverns, where they engaged Androssi Zahard and Hatsu. While initially gaining an advantage over Androssi in their battle, due to the intervention of Hatsu, Androssi was able to somewhat turn the tables, by striking him from an insane height. After hitting the ground he was able to stand, though his foot was bleeding heavily. After Hatsu took Ron Mei hostage, both he and Ron Mei were forced to concede defeat. He was seen carrying Ron Mei after their defeat. She mentioned to him that they would get another chance to steal the Slayer candidate's title.
Tower of God: Part 3
Deng Deng (Arc)
When Baam infiltrated the Regular Arena in order to search and rescue Deng Deng who was held captive, he encountered Varagarv along with Ron Mei. Varagrav directly charge at Baam to attack. Both of them then fought each other. Varagarv came out victorious but he knew Baam was fooling around and intentionally surrendering himself. He then said that next time, he will make sure Baam wouldn't underestimate him again.
After Baam escape from prison, Varagarv and Baam have a re-match, Baam easily shoot him out of the base the with his new skill Streamflow, later claiming he has no time and wish to fight a opponent that weaker than him, which enrage Varagarv. Engulfed with rage, he continue the fight, using the full power of Blood Tamara, which increase his fighting poweress, but even then, The Mad Dog can't even land a hit on Baam, and was defeated after Baam used his new self-invented technique Zero, a weaker version of Floral Butterfly Piercing Technique.[4]
After his defeat, Varagarv return to the Cage, eager for his re-match with the Slayer Candidate.
Powers and Abilities[]
Varagarv was first introduced as the strongest E-rank Regular. He is a perfect warrior born in the Regular Arena, fighting ring area of young Canines, Varagarv showed such overwhelming skills that he came to be called the strongest E-rank Regular.[2] Chang Blarode, one of the top 5 E-rank Regulars advised to "never fight against him" which speaks volumes about Varagarv's strength.
Blood Fusion[]
As one of the Three Mad Dogs, he was born through a special process known as "blood fusion". It is a method where two or more powerful bloodlines of 10 Great Families are mixed and injected into their body. Mad Dogs who are born through this blood fusion, gain unique and strong powers, that are unmatched by ordinary Regulars.[5] He is the perfectly made "attack dog", one of the "best" they created using various clans' blood, although his body isn't as potent as a Zahard Princess'.
Physical[]
Enhanced Durability: Varagarv could survive a fall from a great height with only a bloodied foot. This is impressive due to the fact that he was struck down by Androssi Zahard, one of the physically strongest E-rank Regulars. However this was probably due in part to the Blood Tamara.[6]
Shinsu Control[]
Varagav can fire two purple-colored Shinsu Baangs after becoming C-rank Regular. This can be seen when he attacked Baam. The size of his attack was quite huge, but it were no match for Baam's shinsu. However, it would still be a powerful shinsu attack for ordinary Regulars.
When fighting against weak opponents like Amaguta, Varagarv's shinsu is overwhelming. The pressure of his shinsu was able to make Amaguta's head exploded without any movement from Varagarv. And Baam noted that no baangs were created. However, this turned out to be caused by his Shadow Wolves ability.
Shadow Wolves (영 랑, Yuhng-Rahng): It's the Mad Dog's special ability gained through blood fusion. They're usually around the Mad Dog and materialise for surprise attacks. These monsters are "demon dogs" specialised in murder (so not really the best at capturing targets alive).[7] They are deemed as the "Ultimate Counter".
Weapons[]
Blood Tamara: A special item that was dissolved into his blood. This item is acquired by Varagarv before Workshop Battle, it's the winning 1st prize for whoever shoot the fastest to get a ticket during the One Shot, One Opportunity Game. It was never revealed who was shot by Varagarv but it's likely his own random teammate. Sacrificed other people to get what he wants. Blood Tamara will increase and boost his physical strength and Body Reinforcement, making him temporarily invulnerable to most physical attack from Regulars level. It is deemed the "Ultimate Defense". In part 3, Varagarv was able to fully activate Blood Tamara.
