Firstly, I have been involved (for those unaware of it) in editing the of the 'Structure of the Tower' page; there has been alot of edits of this page arising as a result of my own contended edit. This blog post has been made in order to assist in identifying exactly what was the problem with the edit I made (and the way of editing in general), because I am getting mixed messages here (of which I am unsure if some are merely my perception):

1. Editing to improve ascthetics - > The only time I have done this was on sections that I, myself, have done; therefore I do not see this as a problem unless you are suggesting that it is problematic for having too many edits in the edit history, in which case I agree - however I continue to receive a preview of edits that do not match the end product (particularly when using formating such as indentations, bullet points and so forth) therefore when going back to the page I see the vastly incorrect and rather ugly formatting which looks unprofessional and distracts readers from the content of the page (therefore I am inclined to try to fix such problems, I try to use the minor edit button to do so though I admit forgetting sometimes). Also, the entire reason I was asked to edit the structure page in the first place was to improve the flow and appearance, so I find it rather... intriguing that I am then asked to refrain from editing to improve the appearance of that page (ignoring that I was editing what I added).

2. Editing to improve flow - > I have done this in several sections (and on more than simply this page), it was required in order to adapt the structure of this particularly wiki (as requested) yet maintain the flow of information in a way that was intelligible, if, in doing so I have altered meanings of the original, I apologise profusely, however that was unintentional.

3. Editing to move content from this page - > Given that this is a page on the structure of the tower, some content that was on that page had nothing to do with the tower's structure; such as the rate of aging and numerous other comments; therefore I felt that it was best to move them to pages that had to do with that particular content, e.g. Shinsoo, Regulars, Rankers... This was indeed a discretionary move, however given that this page has a specific purpose - to discuss the structure of the tower, I felt this appropriate... if it was not appropriate to exercise such discretion, then I would welcome some definition or description of what level of discretion you wish contributors to use and to refrain from.

4. Editing that removes source of data - > This was indeed an oversight, I am sorry about that, while paraphrasing (to add to a different part that would allow better information flow in the wiki) I must have deleted it on accident. I assume that this also addresses comments regarding uncited data such as 'state of mind' affecting shinsoo aging issues? Oh and as a side note; if someone who can delete pages sees this blog post,

Also: Evan Edrock (note the 'c') really needs to be deleted, after reading in Yu Han Sung that Evan Edrock was falsely redirecting there (which I found correct in testing after copying and pasting the name as he has spelled it) I attempted to set up a redirect on that page, but strangely it did not work. I do not know why, it still redirected to Yu Han Sung (I assumed that this was because I misspelled it - but that does not appear to be the case) I set up the redirect as a stop gap until it was removed, but it did not work - I know how to use redirects and I triple checked the spelling so I have NO IDEA why it did not work... plus the wiki name is misspelled anyway so deletion was always the way to go 43rdFloorGuardian 02:21, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
