The Lighthouse is the centre of all your battles. All information is gathered and all commands are given from here.

Lero-Ro to his Light Bearer trainees

Lighthouse (등대, Deungdae) is the primary device utilized by the Light Bearers for gathering information, doing complex calculation or computation, or emitting light. The Lighthouses are mostly cube-shaped or box-shaped, while in some cases there are Light Bearers who have "Customized Lighthouses" (e.g. Ha Yura's Suitcase).

About[]

Lighthouse comes in different colours and consists of different purity levels of Suspendium. The higher purity of Suspendium used, the better the Lighthouse will float in areas of high Shinsu concentration. Most Lighthouses are made of low purity Suspendium, as high purity Suspendium is both expensive and difficult to handle.

"connecting" search cube to another cube, to form a larger cube

When a Lighthouse is in a larger form, it is also called a Light.[1] This is because Light Bearers don't use smaller cubes for gathering information. It seems the Lighthouse itself can be "disconnected" or split into other components such as more cubes of varying sizes, screens, keyboard, etc.; disconnected cubes can be made to expand into the size of a room or larger. Two or more cubes can also be merged or "connected" by moving them physically which increases their size. Each cube is likely capable of gathering, recording and analyzing information, which is transmitted to the "main cube" and possibly, other cubes.

There is a misconception that Lighthouses can be destroyed easily. When a Lighthouse is knocked out, it has fallen outside of the Light Bearer's field of shinsu control and will fall to the ground. It is no longer in operating mode because its power source has been disconnected. If a strong pressure is applied to them they can be destroyed.

Like Armour Inventories, Arms Inventories, Pockets and so on, it has "visible" and "invisible" modes. Similarly, there are different shapes and Grades of Lighthouses. The Opera has a very high Grade and the Eyes of God likely has the highest Grade.

Central Unit of a Lighthouse[]

Any cube can serve as the central unit or main cube of the network. Other cubes can even be set up inside this cube. And one or more of the cubes will also serve as a light source. As the central unit of the Lighthouse network, it also serves as a battle command centre. The Light Bearer can actually sit inside the main cube, which can expand to the size of a room.

If the main cube is taken over by an enemy, the network will fall apart. So, the Light Bearer must be able to defend the Lighthouse by being well-versed in combat and also know how to block or reverse a hacking attempt. Hachuling hacked into Khun Aguero Agnis' Lighthouse so he could take control of it.[2]

Inside the Central Lighthouse, there are multiple screens, smaller lighthouses and other components which float in Shinsu. The Light Bearer uses a keyboard to issue commands and probably to operate the cubes which transmit information via a wireless connection. One of these cubes also serves as the main cube inside the central unit.

The cubes all aid in information gathering and most or all of these cubes also have visual displays. One of these cubes is a search cube and when connected to another cube, it provides a search window. Through this window, one can then access the "Intelligence Network" which contains profiles of many famous individuals and perhaps other types of information as well.[3] The cubes can also record information, like the total amount of shinsu used by a person during a battle. The cubes also feed the information into the screens which provide other types of information like live visual feedback, possibly graphs, statistics and so on. The Lighthouse also has a loudspeaker function, which provides audio feedback.

If the Light Bearer is located in an extremely bright area, they probably work with the cubes in larger forms (unknown why for now) and several cubes are simply placed at certain points, for the sake of gathering information.

Wireless Connection and Network[]

A Lighthouse can be connected with other Lighthouses to form or expand a big network of Lighthouses. Through all the visual input gathered by all these Lighthouses, each Light Bearer will be able to receive certain amounts of visual-audio and other types of data in areas occupied by other Light Bearers. When another Lighthouse is connected to a Lighthouse, it will show up as an additional display screen. This allows the Light Bearer to contact with the other Light Bearer.

Lighthouses also have wireless networking features which allow it to connect with external devices like another Lighthouse, an Observer and so on. Observers that are connected to a Lighthouse will provide it with more detailed visual information which Light Bearers use to analyse and coordinate their team.

Powers and Abilities[]

Lighthouse Skill[]

Lighthouse Barrier[]

Lighthouse Barrier is a common technique for Light Bearers. This technique will allow the Light Bearers to block enemy attack with transparent wall barrier. However, if the enemy attack is very strong, the barrier will break and be destroyed.

Lighthouse Flow Control[]

Lighthouse Flow Control is a common technique for Light Bearers. This technique will allow the Light Bearers to temporary stop the flow of Shinsu of certain objects (e.g. Lighthouse) or living beings (e.g. Shinheuh, Regulars, Rankers), and eventually freeze/stop their movement, only for a short period of time. Read More.

Light Bearers are also capable of exerting a dense shinsu field, that can stop people depending on the strength of the field exerted and the shinsu resistance of the opponent in question. Urek Mazino has bragged that only the Opera Lighthouse could stop him for more than 0.1 seconds.

Lighthouse Reinforcement[]

Lighthouse Reinforcement (등대강화, Deungdae Gahnghwa; or "Lighthouse Strengthening, Lighthouse Enhancement") is an ability to strengthen or boost the Shinsu Control of your own technique or boost your allies with the help or support of Lighthouses.[4][5] Read More.

Lighthouse Teleportation[]

Lighthouse Teleportation (등대텔레포트, Deungdae Tellepoteu) is an advanced technique for Light Bearers. Not every Light Bearer can perform it. This technique will allow the Light Bearers to perform short range teleportation for many people, objects or even launch coordinated attack.

Lighthouse Compression[]

Lighthouse Compression is a Lighthouse Technique that Rachel showed when she encountered Khun Aguero Agnis who tried to prevent her from boarding the Hell Express back in the Train City. This technique will allow Rachel to "enlarge" her Lighthouses to massive size, capable to crack and damage the floor.[6]

Enna Core[]

Enna Core (엔나 코어, Enna Ko-eo) is an advanced skill that can only be utilized by Lighthouses that have been upgraded with the Enna Core upgrade kit from an ordinary unit to one that uses an Enna Core. With it, a single Lighthouse can do as many calculations as 9 (nine) individual Lighthouses.[7]

Notes and Trivia[]

  • It seems a Lighthouse is transparent and its contents can be viewed, as a Lighthouse can be used as a storage container.
  • A novice Regular seems only to be able to control one or two Lights simultaneously (in Part 1 even Khun Aguero Agnis was only able to control two Lights simultaneously).
  • The first known Light Bearer Tu Perie Tperie said "The Heavens gave me the Eyes of God", when reminiscing how she received the position of Light Bearer. Although whether this is a trustworthy claim is highly controversial and causes some debate.
  • A Lighthouse is used to feed information to Guides,[citation needed] who will then help the Light Bearer find a path.
  • Although Lighthouse can be used as Pockets in emergencies, they don't have the same level of simultaneous translation functionalities that Pockets have. It is more a symbolism problem than a function problem. A Pocket, in a way, is a kind of 'license' that confirms one's status as a Regular.[8]
