The Koon Family is one of the 10 Great Families. The head of the Koon Family, Koon Eduan, is said to have the most "wives" (married partners) of the 10 Great Families, so the family itself is very large. However, only the Hendo Family has more members.

Because there are a lot of children, so there is a lot of veiled competition among his children in the family. Too much competition has created the 'official' fights. It is held once a year, with the following rule: 'When the children of Koon reach the age of 10, they are to fight each other. The winners are recogized as the true children of Koon.' 

The winners are recognized as the true children and gets the crest of the family, but the losers become the 'abandoned' and do not get the crest. Although the fights are inhuman and bloody, Koon Eduan himself says he's 'not very interested'.

And there is likely a lot of competition among the wives as they seek to gain favour and power with their husband. In Part I Chapter 12, it was mentioned that "the powers have shifted" and Koon Agero Agnis' mother said she had "lost the fight" (for power).

Koons tend to be clever, but quite coldhearted schemers. They also tend to be quite confident and proud people. All Koons are inherently strong, due to Eduan's blood. They all seem to be trained with Shinsoo and common combat, before entering the Tower as Regulars. They also have the convinience of climbing the Tower without having to make contracts with Guardians, as they already have contracts pre-setup for every floor of the Tower up until the 135th Floor.

In Part I Chapter 12, the "house head" was mentioned as the person who was responsible for 'casting aside' Koon Agero Agnis. And it is likely this person holds a high position within the Family and could even be the wife of the main branch.

In Part I Chapter 13, it is revealed that the family lost their place in politics (This is mistranslation. The original text only mentions about the power struggle within Koon family not Koon family losing influence in politics). Currently, the reason is unknown. For now, it's assumed that Agero's attempts to swap the Princesses around caused this. However, due to the struggle to regain political power, Koon Agero Agnis became one of the 'discarded children.'

Hachuling is a Ranker who defected from the Koon Family.

The Agnis Branch has been expelled from the Koon Family.
