Yihwa is very praised among the Yeon Family because of the fact that the Yeon Family's daughters are only born once every 100 years. When she was a child, the familie's adults praised her for showing extraordinary flames after immolating a person with it, stating that she might become a Zahard's Princess of the Yeon Family.[7] Yihwa entered the Tower when she was 14 and passed the Second Floor with the highest score. Afterward, it only took her 5 years to reach the 20th Floor without anyone's help, including her Family's, indicating that she was very talented.
SIU has repeatedly emphasized that Yihwa is a very special character in part II, stating that her power level is unrivaled among the regulars (Viole not included), and when reffering to part 1, she'd be close to Androssi Zahard. [8]. This is very consistent since SIU first statements that she is roughly similiar to Androssi (pretty, feminine, good stats) since Yihwa's first appearances.[9]However, SIU didn't explain further about what the difference between the two was, because it maybe contained spoilers for the future. However, this might refer to Yihwa's lack of self-confidence and the reason that she was afraid to hurt others, which makes her a little different from Androssi.
On the event of her true flames awakening against Angel, SIU emphasized her presence more in his blog post with the statement that if she could control her powers, she'd be able to put Khun Ran to shame.[10] SIU also explained that the reason why Yihwa rarely has action in the story, is because drawing her flames causes him wrist pain.[11]
Power and Abilities[]
Physical Strength: As a member of 10 Great Families, Yihwa has higher physical strength than a normal person. She is able to throw Bero Bero like a baseball with only one hand.[7] Her body can directly take on an attack from an Ignition Weapon without losing consciousness,[12] while any normal person would pass out from the effect of the attack. In Part 3, she was seen conscious even after Yool poisoned her.
Hwayeomsa (Flame User)[]
Hwayeomsa (화염사, Hwayeomsa): Yihwa is a fire user and claims her unrestrained flames are enough to cause the Rankers in her family trouble.[13] Her flames were initially a pinkish shade, tinted with violet, blue and sparks of white.[14] However, during her most recent display, her flames appear as a more traditional fire-like color with heavy black features.[15]
Initially, she had trouble controlling her flames. She fully admitted this during her conversation with Hon Akraptor, calling herself a 'defective product' because of it.[16] However Yihwa's control got better over the next few years, but she still had trouble with her accuracy and couldn't hit specific targets; despite this, she was later seen using her flames to knock out four opponents with a mini-explosion during a test.[17]
During the Development Tournament of the Workshop Battle, her accuracy increased and she managed to hit a member of Team Snake fairly accurately and also managed to hit a small target such as Medina from a far distance with Wangnan even implying that her training paid off. After the events of the Workshop Battle, Yihwa has gained more confidence in controlling her flames.[18]
After the timeskip before the Hell Train's departure, Yihwa has shown an impressive improvement on the control of her flames, being able to direct a large volume of flames to erupt from underneath Beniamino Cassano.[15]
During the Name Hunt Station Arc, her flame size has become even bigger. Her flames power forced Arie Inieta to defend by using his sword. Her teamwork also seems to have increased since she can combine her flames with Hong Danhwa's Ignition Weapon "Krishna" to create a powerful combination attack. However, Inieta successfully defend against the combined attack with his sword and was left almost unscratched. Upon realizing that the flame came from a member of the Yeon Family, Inieta quickly changed his primary target from Rak to Yihwa, stating that Yihwa is more dangerous and he will finish the biggest nuisance first.[12]
True Flame of The Yeon Family[]
A major power development happened to Yihwa when she fought with Raguel, an angel assistant of "Mad-Dog" Buelsar Elliot during the event of the Dallar Show. Isolated behind the prison chains that were built by Buelsar, Yihwa had to fight till death against Raguel. In this event, the true flame of the Yeon Family inside her body was suddenly awakened, although unconsciously and eventually she went crazy and lost control. This was triggered after Yihwa suffered a mental breakdown from shock after seeing Pompidou (the red chicken) bing killed ruthlessly by Raguel. Upon seeing the "true flame of the Yeon Family", Raguel was scared and realized that she picked up a fight with the wrong person, but it was already too late. Yihwa, who at the time was unconscious and controlled by her anger and revenge, destroyed Raguel mercilessly with her flames.[11]

During the full scale Rose Shower attack by Ha Yuri Zahard to kill Karaka, Yihwa, Rak and Danhwa got trapped in the middle of the attack after they successfully distracted Karaka with the ignition weapon Krishna. Three of them fell off the bridge that seemed to have endless height and were hit by Rose Shower. They all disappeared without a trace when Evan Edrok came to check their condition after Rose Shower finished. It turned out later that Yihwa and Danhwa were rescued by Yuje and brought to the 43rd Floor not far from the entry to the Floor of Death. Danhwa woke up to find out Yuje and Urek Mazino were waiting for them to regain consciousness. While Yihwa still left unconscious, Yuje proceeded to explain that the true flame of the Yeon Family that was asleep within her body had awakened moments before they were hit by the Rose Shower attack. The flame activated itself to defend Yihwa's life.[19] The Rose Shower attack was capable of making the Slayer Karaka run for his life,[20] and force Kallavan to block the attack with the power of the Essence of Bravery.[21] The fact that Yihwa's true flames were able to withstand a High Ranker technique like Rose Shower even for just a moment, means that Yihwa's potential cannot be underestimated.
True Flames: Yihwa's true flames are powerful in both defensive and offensive capabilities. The flames will start to surround Yihwa's body and create a flame barrier to protect her. The flames can also be used to fly effortlessly.[11] They are strong enough to withstand a tiny fraction of the Rose Shower attack.[19]
